Legal metrology system
Legal metrology system is designed to ensure accurate measuring instruments and proper metrological control compliance with prescribed "Measures Act,"and thereby to establish a foundation for fair trade and protect interests of consumers.
Legal measuring instruments
In Korea, items which have close relation to consumers and are used frequently in commercial transaction, are designated as legal measuring instrument in accordance with the “Measures Act”

Type approval
"Type approval" is the system to determine whether the design of the measuring instruments meets certain criteria for accurate measurements and the measurement scope, performance and characteristics complied with the technical requirements.
